FINLEY ENGINEERING GROUP ADDS THREE PRINCIPALS
Bridge Consulting Firm Elevates Dock, Martin, and Pfuntner to Principal Status
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA Bridge engineering and construction consultant Finley Engineering Group (FINLEY) recently added three principals to the firm's management team. Daniel A. Dock, P.E., Cheryl R. "Sherry" Martin, CPA, and Jerry M. Pfuntner, P.E., join firm founder Craig Finley as principals of the firm.
"Growing a firm, both in size and expertise, requires a solid management team, and I couldn't ask for a stronger group to help me lead our firm into the future," says Finley. "I've known Dan, Sherry, and Jerry for a long time and they're three of the most principled and professional people I've met in this business. Their personalities and attitudes fit perfectly with our culture. At the same time, each brings a number of unique, but complementary talents to the firm."
Below are brief bios of FINLEY's three new principals:
Dan Dock, P.E.
As vice president of engineering, Dan brings extensive experience in both public- and private-sector projects for the design, construction, construction inspection and business development of major bridge projects. In his 28-year career, Dan has been involved in all phases of bridge design as a consultant and DOT employee. He has also served as a project engineer for a bridge contractor.
Dan has participated in the design and construction of several precast concrete segmental bridges, including the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Florida. His experience also includes cable-stayed bridges and international projects.
Prior to joining FINLEY, Dan was responsible for the overall operations, business development and project oversight for Parsons Corporation's bridge engineering and bridge construction inspection offices in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. He has worked on many high-profile projects such as the Central Artery project in Boston, the Bonner Bridge in North Carolina, and the I-110 Bridge in Mississippi.
Dan holds professional registrations in Florida, North Carolina, and Louisiana, and he is affiliated with the American Segmental Bridge Institute (ASBI). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Tri-State University in Indiana.
Sherry Martin, CPA
Sherry is vice president of finance and administration. She is responsible for all operations and professional support activities at FINLEY. These activities include banking, accounting, human resources, administration, and information technology.
Sherry's previous positions included managing the accounting department for a large organization that operated 120 separate companies. She also spent several years as a Principal and Vice President of Finance and Administration at Finley McNary Engineers, and she joined Parsons Corp. along with Craig Finley following its acquisition of FME. At Parsons, Sherry was Director of Division Controls for the Bridge and Tunnel Division.
She is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Sherry continued post-graduate studies at Florida State University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Jerry Pfuntner, P.E.
Jerry is a senior bridge engineer with FINLEY. Prior to joining the firm, Jerry was with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), where he served as the Area Structures Engineer in Districts 1 (Miami) and 6 (Bartow). In that position, he was responsible for plans review and approval of all Category 2 bridge structures within his districts. Jerry has been involved in the design and construction of precast and cast-in-place segmental, steel, cable-stayed, and arch bridges in the United States and internationally. Previously, as a member of Finley McNary Engineering and Parsons Corporation, Jerry served as project manager and project engineer on a diverse group of projects. This includes the Foothills Parkway Bridges in Tennessee, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Replacement, and the Benicia Martinez Bridge.
Jerry earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering and his Masters of Engineering from the University of Florida. He is a member of ASBI and the Florida Engineering Society, which named him Young Engineer of the Year in 1999. |
