Finley Engineering Group – or FINLEY as we’re known in the industry – is looking for bridge engineers at all experience levels. What do we have to offer?
• A dedicated, focused team of engineering professionals who produce bridge designs that contractors can – and do – build.
• Exciting project work on some of the most high-profile, interesting bridges in the country and in the world.
• A learning environment with accessible mentors who are among the most well-respected, knowledgeable, and experienced engineers in the profession. This includes Jacques Combault, our technical director, who is world renowned for his creative, innovative approach to practical bridge design and construction. And Craig Finley, who has built two successful companies and received numerous industry honors and awards.
• A rare opportunity to advance in a fast-growing company and in the industry, including the potential for principal-level management and ownership consideration.
• A comfortable, modern office space in sunny, warm Tallahassee – the vibrant government seat of Florida.
• A casual and fun, but professional work environment.
• Excellent salary and a flexible, comprehensive benefits plan.
What is FINLEY looking for from you?
We need enthusiastic, ambitious engineers who want to grow in their profession and learn from their work every day. We need engineers who understand that the ultimate purpose of designing a bridge is to get it built in the best, most efficient way possible. And we need engineers who know that design awards and accolades are nice, but that designing a functional bridge and satisfying the client’s needs are far more important.
For management-level candidates, we require a B.S. in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, with an M.S. preferred, as well as a professional engineer’s license in one or more states. You have engineering experience in advanced bridge design and construction, and you are proficient in advanced structural analysis techniques and software. You can manage a project and a project team, and you can mentor less experienced staff. Additionally, if you have a solid network of industry contacts, that is a plus.
For entry- and mid-level candidates, we require a B.S. in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, with an M.S. preferred. P.E. registration or E.I.T. certification give you a significant advantage. At minimum, you are proficient in basic computer, engineering and CADD software. And you’re excited at the thought of working on the design and construction engineering of the most complex bridges in the U.S. and the world.
