Principal |
Jerry has a uniquely diverse
background in the field of bridge engineering, having performed
design, construction engineering, field engineering, bridge
inspection and general consultant roles. He has been involved
in the design of a variety of bridge structure types, including
flat slab, prestressed I-girder, steel girder, precast segmental
balanced cantilever, cast-in-place segmental, precast span-x-span
bridges, tied-arch bridges and cable-stayed bridges. Notable
design experience includes ship impact analysis, finite element
analysis, seismic analysis, strut-and-tie modeling and time
dependent analysis.
Prior to joining the firm, Jerry was with the Florida Department
of Transportation (FDOT), where he served as the Area Structures
Engineer in Districts 1 (Miami) and 6 (Bartow). In that position,
he was responsible for plans review and approval of all major
bridge structures within his districts.
Previously, as a member of Finley McNary Engineers and Parsons
Corporation, Jerry served as project manager and project engineer
on a wide-ranging group of projects. This includes the Foothills
Parkway Bridges in Tennessee, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Replacement,
and the Benicia Martinez Bridge.
Jerry earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering and his Masters of
Engineering from the University of Florida. While at the University
of Florida, he was one of the original members of the software
development team for the FB-Pier non-linear structural analysis
program. He is a member of ASBI and the Florida Engineering
Society, which named him Young Engineer of the Year in 1999.
